Dynasty: the child chose the profession of medical representativeThe career choice of children in a family of doctors usually predefined, however, not always the students want to follow in the footsteps of their parents, by enrolling in medical school to the same specialty. Many of our applicants are curious to know what aspects in relationships with parents may occur when considering, for example, vacancy of medical representative.

In modern society, one of the most conservative social groups are members of the medical profession. And no wonder: doctors often consider themselves separate «caste», which is valued line of succession, transfer of professional skills from generation to generation.

Therefore, when interviewing people with medical education, to the question: «why did You decide to go to med school?» most often hear is not socially expected response, for example, «I wanted to help people,» and sigh, accompanied by the phrase «my parents are doctors, wanted to pursue the matter».

But not enough to be born into a family of doctors to have the necessary qualities and traits to become a successful doctor. Perhaps the majority of parents-doctors, knowing that of all the professions out practice child choose a career in medical representative, will be relieved. Why to doctors, this is the «least evil»?

First, the rate of medical representative is the first step of development in pharmaceutical business. Moreover, of all the «starter» positions, this is easy enough to find a job immediately in the «big farm», bypassing distributors and small companies.

Work allows pharmaceutical companies to apply their University knowledge in the field of medicine with a high level of income, which is characteristic for large commercial structures.

Secondly, it is the position of medical representative can expect rapid career growth in the pharmaceutical sector. As a rule, the representatives of pharmaceutical companies become regional managers, supervisors, training managers or medical advisors.

Thirdly, work in sales in the pharmaceutical business has its own unique specificity. In addition to regular working directly with doctors, medical representatives communicate with OL’AMI (opinion leaders – opinion leaders), which means maintaining a very high level of contacts with «elite» of the medical community, and this, in addition to direct contacts, means awareness of new trends in the treatment of diseases and drugs.

Summing up, it is safe to say that the work of medical representative, perhaps, is the best choice for those who graduated from medical school, but does not see itself in practice as it will allow to combine high levels of wages and prospects for rapid career growth with application obtained at the Institute of knowledge and maintaining a high level of awareness in the medical field.
